Working in collaboration with Chiltern Rangers and Wycombe Youth Action, Dan hosted a week of inspiring creative art workshops for 11-25 year olds as part of the Young Roots Project.

The six Wildlife and nature themed mixed-media paintings produced by over 25 different young people are to be installed in a permanent outdoor exhibition at The Wycombe Swan Theatre.

Practical skills passed on included sketching-up, brush & spraycan techniques, masking and stencils, lettering/signwriting, alongside intuitive skills like art, materials and subject knowledge and creative confidence.

Young Roots is an ongoing 18 month initiative that offers practical experience through workshops and hands-on projects to local 11-25 year olds in many different fields, including Environmental, Conservation, Film & Media, Carpentry, Cookery, and Art.

This particular 5 day event was part of an amazing wider project to improve, transform and promote High Wycombe’s ‘secret’ town centre River The Wye…

Watch the Volunteer’s diary at the end for an insider look at what went on August 1st to 5th 2016.
